Google says most rich result types now have their own breakout row in the performance report.

Rich results filter.

Google has decided to discontinue the generic rich results breakout in the Search Console Performance report.

In a blog post last week, Google said this generic filter was no longer required because they already showed breakouts for most rich results types.

Google results are increasingly varied in type, way beyond simple textual results. It doesn’t make much sense to group them all under one banner as site owners will be looking for data on how individual types are performing. Google said:

“We realize that grouping data for rich results is not ideal, as each type may have a significantly different behavior. Therefore we decided to sunset the Rich result search appearance.”

Google has been gradually incorporating more and more specific rich results search appearances into the performance reports in search console. There are currently 19 supported search appearance types and more will be added on an ongoing basis.

Google said removal of the rich results search appearance was a reporting change only, and would not affect your traffic in any way.

The generic rich results search appearance will be supported until 1 August 2021, after which it will no longer be available in Search Console or the API.
